Is it time to start talking about running with Pickard into the playoffs.
He’s small, often out of position, but he makes the save and often gets teams to miss the net with hurried shots.
If we win out the week and Skinner returns to the crease, it’ll be a short leash.
On the verge of a goalie controversy which in the long run will be a good thing as it force a change. Both fight to be average knowing that’s all the Oilers need.

This might be the first back-to-back starts that Pickard's had all year where he hasn't got blown out completely in one of them. We're just a few days away from that dreadful second period against Seattle. I think it would be a little preliminary to suggest that he's stealing the top job away.
Not that Skinner sets a high bar, but running Pickard through the playoffs out of anything less than absolute necessity would be insanity.

No one wants it to be this way … Skinner has not looked good for such a long time, and running with Pickard might be a necessity. The Stu leash get's shorter and shorter, and even though Pickard just started his first back to back in set of games in ages, he has been getting more starts as of late, and not just on nights where they play back-to-back games.
