Maybe we just happen to be the only contender with a huge arse pain player like this that can't see how he can help the team add more players at the deadline and give himself and the team a better chance at the cup.
Two years in a row maybe? If this is true, then I do wonder if Kane refused to sit out and properly heal with the added benefit of LTIR last year too. That basically would have costed us the cup because we could have had another ~5M of players plus a healthier Kane for the playoff run.

He just can't help himself. Extremely selfish person, and doesn't really care about the cap space or about whether that will help the team win. I suspect he is concerned that if he doesn't make a play for that space, then maybe they get another winger and he could have to play in the bottom-6 which would not be his preferred spot.
I mean, this is a guy who griped about his ice time in the middle of a historic winning streak. He's not ever about the crest on the front of the jersey...

If the oilers are just figuring this out now after all the surgeries and all the talk about prioritizing flexibility at the deadline (more so than locking up their players) then that's on them. Another problem now is that they basically have to trade him unless he sits out until playoffs because they've positioned themselves to blame Kane if they fall on their faces at the deadline.
Also why on earth does Arvidson have a no move?? Has he even played this year?
