I remember this too. Before he was drafted by the Oilers I heard about him. Went to see him play a couple times and remember being unimpressed at first. I thought he was slow and lazy.
Then I watched closer and realized just how good he was and how many good things happened when he was on the ice.
It maybe why I defend him so strongly now. I don't know if there has ever been a player that I was so wrong about on my first impression.
