Ken Holland was interviewed by DNB in the Athletic.
Says Philp has retired. Sounds like some mental health stuff, wanted to be home.
Sounded like he had a shot at 4C next season. Holland said he was offered a two year contract.

That's a bummer for Oilers. AHL is a grind.
Stauffer had said that one of the players who other teams scouts asked about the most was Philp.. he probably had a NHL career.. even at the AHL level its pretty good money.

Hopefully he will be OK. He was only down there 1 year so it's not like he was a journeymen AHLer spending years and years down there. So something pretty significant must have happened to him.
