It is time for the team to realize they aren't a nightly underdog and dictate how the game will be played.
I was thinking about the slow starts and it seems the team comes into the game waiting to see what kind of game it will be. Fast, tight checking, grinding, etc. By the time they have figured it out they are down a couple.
They need to start the game playing to their strengths and put the Sabres on their heels. Make the opposition adapt instead of waiting for the other team to show a hand then try to counter.
Also, play with some urgency in their own end. I dont mistake lethargy with calm defensive play and in the first two games the standing around in the defensive zone was noticeable. All 5 players on the ice need to commit to the idea of keeping the puck away from the net then use speed to counter attack.
