No Connor or Leon on the ice tonight per Bob Stauffer. Gonna be a tough one.

Smart move.. LD needs the rest.. he was slugging it out last night.. McD could go.. big battery.. but with a few days rest he'll be Freaking Super-Charged for Monday !! icon_nod
We'll get a glimpse of what this roster looks like without its two stars.. can't remember a game with both LD and McD missing before.. Shore will come in.. not not sure who else is left.. maybe Russell in with Broberg and go 11-7?

Koski in.. good move.. he needs the reps.. and no reason to risk Smith.

Just heard Broberg is headin' back in Bako.. who's left? .. Archibald?

Bako is in a push for playoffs and they are light on defense with a few guys hurt but close to coming back so they would want Broberg playing. Plus I assume that must mean Nurse will be ready to go. I assume Archibald and Shore would go in for McD and Leon. Brassard can play center. Russell will be in for Broberg.

If I was the WoodCroft, I would keep the top 3 lines lines intact for the most part.

Kane - McLeod/Shore/Brassard - JP
Hyman - McLeod/Shore/Brassard - Yamo
Foegele - Nuge - Ryan
Arch - McLeod/Shore/Brassard - Kassian

I'd keep that 3rd line completely intact. Don't mess with it. Then I keep the wingers together in the top 2 lines.

I wonder how Arch is feeling about his personal decision not to get vaxxed. Didn't get vaxxed and he got a heart condition from catching Covid that cost him most of his season. If he had of got vaxxed, could he have still got covid? Yes. Would he have still got the heart condition? Maybe but his chances of not getting it at all would have been way better. At least if he would have gotten vaxxed, after he was recovered, he probably would have played all the rest of the season instead when he came back, he barely played because he couldn't cross the border.

When healthy, he was a physical, good skating guy that can be on your PK and score you 10+ goals. Are his advanced numbers great? Probably not but if he played this season and score 10 + goals with a couple 100 hits, I am sure some team would have signed him to a contract. Now as a UFA pushing 30 with no previous season to fall back on, I'd be surprised if he got a contract, maybe a PTO if he is lucky.

Now he gets to play his last game as an Oiler tonight, maybe last game in the NHL all together. Then he gets to watch his teammates in the playoffs. I hope it was worth it because his decision may have cost him continuing his NHL career.
