For all the talk of how great the Flames are with so many guys having career years, Markstrom probably in the running for a vezina and the Oilers goalies being mostly trash, the Flames only have 1 more win with 4 more Bettman points.

I definitely remind my Flames fan friends of things like this when they get too high on their horse.

They are a good team but you hear so many people rave about them and hear how many holes people poke in the Oilers and then you look at the standings and you'd think they would be farther ahead. If you look at how many Flames are having unbelievable, career years all at once.
Gaudreau, will score over 100, might score 40 goals. Contract year. Really good player, do I see him as a 100 pt guy from here on? I doubt it.
Tkachuk will flirt with 100 and high 30's in goals. Contract year. Really good player, do I see him as a 100 pt guy going forward? No.
Linholm will flirt with 40 goals and over 80 pts. Really good player. Would be career highs. Does he go higher moving forward, I doubt it.
Mangiapane, contract year. Has 30 goals. Has slowed down a lot. Do I think he's a 30 goal scoring from now on? No.
Markstrom his blowing his career high in save percentage, GA and shutouts out of the water. He's a career .912 goalie, he's at .924. Do I think he will be in the .920's again next year? I doubt it.
Anyone on the Oilers having a career year where it catches your attention? Leon has 50 goals and 100 pts. He's done that before. McD another 100 pts, he's done that lots. Hyman is having a "career" year but everyone was expecting him to increase his scoring being with one of McD or Leon and if you look at his totals, it's not like he's outpacing his goals or points by this crazy amount. Nuge is having a down year production wise. Yamo is having a good year, especially the last few months. He will have a "career year" but he's never played a full season yet and being a young player, you expect his numbers to go up because they were so low. JP has been playing well as of late and had spurts where he was good but also when he was quiet. He's setting career high but again he's a young player who hasn't played much and just developing so his numbers should increase as he gets older, more experienced and develops more.
