I think we learned Schmiddy’s secret for his dialing back the clock this season...
In his post gamer tonight, he mentioned how much he misses his family. They’re all in the states, his wife running the show and the kids stayed in school and their sports. He’s batchin’ it. That’s the secret.

I felt way more rested before children.

My kids are 7 and 3. The oldest never slept right. Last night I was up from 330 to 530. My bus-cations are the only time I get any sleep. I know I chose this life, but people without kids have no idea.

I remember Talbot’s performance took a dive shortly after he had kids (twins?).

That’s right!! Yep, twins.
There’s something to be said about it for sure. I’ve had a few kidless nights runnin’ back to Saskatoon during this whole move thing and the sleep those nights has been so glorious, especially after a day of sitting in the truck for 5 hours before loading the trailer up. Oldest turns 5 this year and was never a good sleeper and the youngest (7months) is following in his big sisters footsteps in the sleep department. It’s pretty rough. Thankfully my middle child is a sleeper, always has been.
It makes perfect sense now, why Schmiddy has had such a turn around season. Here’s to it continuing. (Though, these rumours of an American hub city for the canadian teams playoff could totally derail that as they’d likely all get the vaccine in quick order.)
