One of the under-the-radar things that entertained me from Saturday night was the evolving narrative from the not-so-good Edmonton sports media during the game.
Fresh off a couple days spent in vociferous defence of Robert Tychkowski for his stupid and inane questions to Draisaitl (complete with an idiotic inside pitch analogy that they all used), it was clear the early narrative was going to be about Draisaitl if the Oilers lost and about Sutter if the Flames won. Here's Mark Spector:

Sadly, that narrative wouldn't hold up. McDavid and Draisaitl were dominant when paired together and so now it was critical to find another story line:

Monahan and Gaudreau one shot on net each.
The trend here is EDM's stars outplaying CGY's more often than not. A feisty game like this one has never been Gaudreau's cup of tea.

Gaudreau had of course drawn the earlier penalty on Draisaitl that Spector had lamented, and had scored that powerplay goal too.
