Wow is that an inexperienced backend.

There's no way Benning is coming out. He had two assists and a decent game, despite playing with the team's worst defenceman.

Two raw rookies and Matt Benning on that right side. Not great.

Mark Pysyk is a healthy scratch in Florida. Expiring deal at the end of the year. Probably worth a phone call.

Don't know much about this Pysyk guys but have seen others talking about him as a possibility. My question is whether he would actually help or if he would be Manning Part Two?

The analytics community LOVES him. I think he is probably overvalued somewhat in those circles, but he is affordable, has an expiring contract at the end of the season, and has some NHL experience and success. I think if the price is right, I'd prefer that than banking hopes on Joel Persson, Kris Russell, and Matt Benning.

EDIT: He may be regressing. He was an "analytics darling" (Buffalo GMs comment) when he was moved, but looks like he is getting passed over in Florida and hasn't been the same player there. Lots in the community still think highly of him, but it might be more on past reputation than current play.
