A near perfect game. Back to back shut outs. McDavid's streak continues.
Times are good.

Good team defence, Jarry did what he had to do, but at no time was he called to stand on his head to earn the shut out.
Any negativity for the performance has to be picky, and I didn't see much wrong.
6-0 on the road to start the year as well.

Oily boys buying into to low event, team defence. Jarry making the stops he should.
Love this.
Perfect two games after the loose game against st the Leafs.

Oilers looking dominant defensively. I blame Babcock for that.

Like I said in the GDT, I think this is the most structured (if that’s the right word), or polished that this team has looked in forever.
And as much as we might want to spread the wealth, McDrai have never been as dominant. Almost all of their shifts feel like a PP. sustained o-zone time almost every time. Sure the wheels might fall off at some point, but at this point I see absolutely no reason to tinker with that.
And happy to eat pounds and pounds of crow if Jarry can maintain this sort of play. Some say he didn’t have to do much - he made some pretty good saves, but more importantly stayed composed. No flailing about. Hope he keeps it up.

That’s Edmonton’s first shutout win on Long Island since Game 1 of the 1984 Stanley Cup Final.
All it took was a Tristan Jarry to pull it off!
