Howard already out, and the Oilers sleep through a 5 minute major PP. Nuge takes a totally needless penalty halfway through to make it 4 on 4.

Wake up boys. The game has started.

You shouldn't be glad. Oilers outplayed NYI through most of the 1st. Just because it was 0-0 doesnt mean they needed to wake up. Isles have a solid defensive structure and are always tough to score on when Sorokin is net. Oilers have also been good defensively while getting more quality chances.

As I type this they have broken through for two quick goals.

I really hated the Babcock signing, but he’s been less insufferable in his pressers, and it feels like the most structured Oilers hockey in 20 years I think. 🤷‍♂️

Woot - McPoint!

A game I expected oilers to play good in. Islanders are a decent team, but was still expecting us to out play. Them. First period was a bit slow but oilers have woke up

LOL. I always love the negative posts if the Oilers dont score 4 per period. They are playing sound defensive hockey and giving up almost nothing dangerous.
This has been a perfect road game and the type of game the Oilers need to play. Control the pace, keep your structure, the goals for will come.

2nd line scoring goals without McDrai on it multiple games in a row. Bloody miracle

SO hestiant to say positive stuff about Jarry, but damn it, gonna risk it. Guy has been stepping up with Levi out. This is one of those extra hard games where he's barely gonna see shots, but the Islanders are good at the high quality counters.

So who starts tomorrow? I also am scared to say anything too good about him, but he’s looking about as good as he has as an Oiler. Do goalies still start back to back?

He seems to be pretty streaky. I think you ride the wave until he shows any sign of wear and needing a break. At least until reinforcements arrive.

Islanders commentators complaining endlessly about the officiating and all the missed calls from the Oilers and how the calls on the Islanders are weak.

Out played them in the first.
After the first couple mins the Oilers dominated the second.
Isles blinked first and started breaking down and the Oilers were rewarded on the score sheet.

Near perfect road game so far. It would be nice to see the PP be more effective but it is a small thing when 5V5 is going well.

Haven't managed to get Sorokin under 0.900 against us since 2022, 7 games ago vs him. Almost always been a really hard game against him. We have just been able to grind the Islanders down tonight.

Didn't know TheBore was coaching the Islanders now. Guess he's perfect for this boring team. Schaefer should try to get out when he can.
