No one legitimate is reporting it, but it is well known that the 21-year-old, soon-to-be RFA Russian, is in the Tocchet doghouse. This is the trade speculation that most people are trying to share.
PHI
- Ike Howard
- 2028 1st Round Pick
- 2028 3rd Round Pick
EDM
- Matvei Michkov

That seems like the overpay we're used to in Oil Country whenever we trade for anything. But if he's in the dog house, I'd rather see either a 1st or Howard if this is the trade we're making.

Tocchet dislikes Michkov for some reason. And just in general Tocchet is running that team into the ground, already expired with his short shelf life coaching (with 3+ years left on his contract? haha).
This would be a perfect time to take advantage of Philly. Michkov is 21 and already scored 20 goals twice. Loads of talent and he is another one of those "engine that doesn't stop" kinds of players that IMO we need more of.
We would be selling low on Howard, but I think Philly would be selling at absolute rock bottom right now with Michkov with not only the totally disastrous disjointed team, but also the coach treating him badly for stupid reasons.

"Next year I would forecast as another developmental year"

I think that kid could be a second Podkolzin in terms of getting for next to nothing and then what his ceiling actually is. I think Howard and a pick (not a 1st) could do it.

Opportunity may have passed by already, if there was any actual opportunity. Michkov has been their best offensive player so far this season.
