From Gregor about the Oct 15 game vs Utah:
Official tonight attendance was 16,176.
That is 2,171 empty seats. Ticket prices and playoff increases a factor for some season seat holders who didn’t renew.
Only sold out game of our 3 home games this season year was the home opener. Last night was the lowest attendance since COVID.
Looks like the price gouging has finally gone too far. Oilers apparently were the most profitable team last season, so there have been be huge profits baked in to everything they are selling fans. And they increased prices again for this season, because I guess being the most profitable team in the league is just not good enough.
Taking fans for granted like Oilers management have taken McDrai for granted.

When I lived in Phoenix years ago and would go see the Oilers play I would regularly run into people from Edmonton that said it was cheaper for them to come see the game in Phoenix rather than Edmonton. Nearly 10 years later I imagine it is much worse.

I have 1/4 season seats, and kind of wish I hadn't committed again this year. We will see how things are looking next spring, I'm undecided if I will renew.
Largely financial. But also just tired of the disregard and disdain the team shows to its fans. I think the administration team do all they can and actually do a pretty good job. But hockey operations and ownership leave a lot to be desired. The greed of ownership is never ending.
Meanwhile the Elks are experiencing a resurgence with fans returning... and their response is to not raise the ticket prices for the playoffs.

At least the beer and concession stands are affordable. Then you can hit up the Team store for a $75 hat.
But you better support them with a ticket purchase...
"We have two types of fans: we have paying customers and we have people that watch the game that we still care about but certainly the people that go to the games and support we spend a lot of time talking to them, delivering our message."
We have tiers, and no one wants to be a pleb.

I got to one game a year. Besides that, this franchise can kiss my a$$. I like the players enough to continue to watching, but ownership and management are hot garbage. Almost as garbage as the quality of production they do at the games. Just the absolute bare minimum for top dollar.
