Levi was somehow possessed by the spirits of Fuhr, Ranford, and Joseph after the first period. May he continue to suffer from this unholy demonic affliction for the rest of the season and into the playoffs…

The forbidden 3 game win streak came early this year.

Shockingly veteran composure after a rough first. Still too many lazy penalties for my liking, but I was impressed with how they turned the momentum and how confident Levi looks in net. It’s early …. I cannot get too excited yet, but what a great record to start the season.
You’re up next, Jarry. Please don’t live up to expectations.

A rough first period, but Levi was good and kept them out and didn't look like it was desperation saves, he looked comfortable all night. The two goals we just lost coverage in front of Levi and on both occasions it was rebounds from Levi saves that led to goals.
We certainly tightened that up after the first period and for the first time this season Leon and McDavid seemed comfortable, far less errors and the puck stuck to them far more.
If we can play more games like we did in the 2nd and 3rd periods for the whole 60, we'll be fine. Ducks comms team mentioned that Anderson isn't expected back till December, which isn't great news.

If the season were to end with stats the way they are today, NHL goal leader Evan Bouchard wins the Rocket Richard while leading all dmen in +/-, and the entire NHL in EVP - you guys think he could be top 3 in Norris voting? Top 5 maybe?
And Levi…I was ready to throw the baby out with the bath water after the Vancouver game, but these last 2 games have been more than I ever thought we’d get from him. Have to think he is our starter for now.

Nah it's Lane Hutsons turn!
Not to mention that Bouchard is not just good in the playoffs but historically elite. Has Zack Warenski ever played a playoff game? I think Hughes played a few rounds where he spent every game getting run through the boards.
Maybe the most disrespected underappreciated player that I can think of and he's kind of a litmus test for hockey knowledge. That includes the complete self own by team Canada going out of their way not to include the best defenceman they have. Needless to say anyone involved with that team selection should be nowhere near the 2030 team.

Levi has looked incredible his last two games. The guy is so athletic his lateral movements and just awareness and knowing where the puck is. The guy looks unbelievable. It’s hard to tell if it’s just a nice two game stretch for him, or if this is the real deal. Either way it’s hard not to get excited. The Oilers have looked extremely good. Anaheim was a tough customer and we looked excellent outside of the first. The year is young, but it has been exciting so far.

The most impressive thing to me about how well we're doing so far, is that we're doing it without half of our top 6 forwards. Bouchard seems to be playing on an entirely new level this season, and that contract he signed is looking like an absolute bargain.
