If it's anything like opening night, expect disappointment. I am.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

Until the goaltending rights itself, I do not have much faith in this club. As we have seen so many times before, all is well until we let in a soft goal. During the home opener, Podkolzin almost scores on the first shot of the game, and then a great save by Lankinen on the PP a few moments later sends a Canuck in alone to score on Jarry. A couple of minutes later, we are down 2-0, and the Oilers revert to the team we saw last year. Cheating on defence, dumb plays on the blue line and one-and-done scoring rushes.

This team is fragile. Hope Levi is the answer.

Lankinen stood on his head, I believe at one point the shots were 17 - 4 for the Oilers. Then they scored their shorthanded goal and it looked like we started collapsing.
That's the mentality we need to power through. keep up the pressure and not doubt as soon as something goes against us.

Oil call up Samanski.. Regula and Savoie out on IR..

Babcock mentioned RNH is out a "couple weeks" .. and its a LBI.. so they are going to be short two of their starting centers for a while.. the McDavid and Leon stacked line is going to have to wait for a while.

Levi looked good in his preseason games.. and camp.. but we all know what thats worth.. he'll be busy tonight.. that loss to Vancouver has sparked some belief in thier players and fans.. they'll be coming 100% tonight in their home opener.. we'll see what the Oil are made of.

Just don’t let in a touchdown of goals and we might have a chance.

Saying he's out for two weeks. Nuge being week to week with a LBI. Not the start I was hoping for.

It hurts the soul how much roster turnover there has been since the 2024 loss.

Not having Hyman hurts big time. Can’t afford to lose any more depth…. Maybe the defense can keep helping us score and we can get some decent goaltending for a chance. Scoring wasn’t the problem last game either. Just stupid turnovers and terrible goaltending.

He apparently got hurt in the last Calgary preseason game.. played through it vs. Vancouver.. so best he heal up..

Knock-Knock.. Opportunity is at the door Mr. Formenton.. Mr. Michaels .. Mr. Samanski .. Mr. Howard .. open the door and say hello

I'd be interested to see who gets the open spot on teh PP.. Podzilla can take teh net front.. we need another guy to sling it around and snipe.. I figure either Kapanen or Howard get a chance.. maybe Formenton (so we don't get another 2 on 1 against during the PP)..
