Nice Howard snipe. And another goal by Hutson party set up by Howard. Howard putting a good game together at the right time before the season starts.

I agree about Howard, first time I've seen him standout from the rest, he was driving the play .. and vs. most of the Canucks regulars.. played better against them than against the Winni AHL'ers.. I did see a glimmer of potential tonight.. just needs to build on that..
Clats was trying all game to make an impact but he looked out of synch.. had one great hit on Canucks D-man Hronek.. flattened him.. and Hronek is usually one the Canucks dishing it out.. but he needs to play some games.. might've been too much running around.. putting him out of synch with rest of his linemates and teh system they were setting up.. he'll figure it out.
Overall I like the pressure the PK was bringing.. and the 5v5 forecheck in general.. last few years our forecheck was awful.. way too passive and layed back.. we invited teams into our own end.. wound up playing in our own end way too much.. with bad outcomes.. either giving up goals or taking penalties.. hopefully we'll have fewer this year.
So far this system looks way more effective.. a team of mostly AHL'ers were able to bring the play to the Canucks regulars.. system looked solid.. there were very few break downs.. everyone seemed to know where they should be, and for the most part were.
There will be a few plane tickets to Bako coming.. but a lot of the prospects looked like they had some real promise.. Cibulka, Carfagna, Marjala, Clatterbuck, and to to a lesser extent Nicholl (1st year pro, good motor), Hutson.. and even Michaels.. didn't notice Lewndowsky at all... he, along with all the rest will need to put in some work..
Oh.. almost forgot.. Jarry looked pretty good.. poised.. Canucks had a few chances in close but he looked agile in covering up the net side to side.. + sign ! ✌🏻
