That is a wild AAV.
If the Ducks match they better hope he pans out or that is a huge handcuff. Even with the cap increasing, making him the highest paid player in the league is a huge bet.
If they dont, that hope moves to the Flyers, not to mention the steep pick cost of a massive offer sheet.

Byram highest cap hit D after years of being meh and riding 2/3 a year of Buffalo's heater as a sheltered 2nd pair D.
Carlsson highest cap hit forward after 67 point season and general team overachieving.
Yeah, things getting crazy out there.
Celebrini just needs to not sign and play out this next season, and he will probably be given max cap hit offer sheets from multiple teams next summer.

Carlsson's offersheet is structured so he gets 39M of it in the first 12 months, wowzers
Quite a derailment of the lovely rebuild the Ducks were having. Maybe Gauthier is about to get an offersheet too!

Per my conversations earlier in the week with sources, the @AnaheimDucks were hoping to be between 10M-12M AAV for Carlsson & Gauthier, knowing Sennecke will be next in line, the @NHLFlyers have now come off the top rope. This also impacts Bedard & Celebrini. #HockeyX

How can this be seen as a president though? Its an offer sheet, which has to be team killing and unreasonably high.
If I am the Ducks, there is no way I match this. 4 1st rounders can be used to get someone else. Yeah, this hurts them, but not near as much as the Blues hurt us.

Thats 4 x1st rounders.. makes sense for the Flyers .. Anaheim in a world of hurt.. Verbeek ain't feelin too sassy.. If Anaheim matches they're RIGHT at the cap limit.. $104M.. Flyers goin' predatory..
They got Senneke and Gauthier still to sign.. Senneke in 2 years.. Gauthier this year..
Ducks going to have to give up a lot of picks to get rid of a combo of either Kilorn 6.25M .. Terry 7M .. Granlund 7M .. Kreider 6.5M .. to cover 18M.. They can't let Carlsson go.
If Carlson gets 18 what does Senneke get? .. Senneke is better INHO..
