Just saw someone comment how Tyler Dellow is assistant GM for Carolina. Wowzers, name on the cup if Carolina wins.

First hockey I've watched since the first round. I saw the score at 4-0 and then 4-4 and thought I'd check out the overtime. Carolina better not let Vegas win another cup..and seeing TH4 win would be kind of cool.

George Mcfee watching this overtime is hilarious. Why haven't they been doing that forever? He's a lunatic.

I hate that entire franchise.. McCrimmon, McPhee.. didn't the Oilers draft McFeeble's kid Graham (5th round 2016) ? .. maybe thats why he's got such a hate on for the Oilers..

Mark Stone, Theodore and Marner.. all played like stiffs in the olympics and now suddenly Stone and Marner decide they can score at will..

Carter Hart is the first goalie in the history of the NHL to concede 4+ goals in each of the first 4 games of a Stanley Cup Final.

Somehow the series is still 2-2. Vegas with some very timely goal scoring and a little dose of Andersen meltdowns have helped.

No Cups

We could have done that... we just didn't play our goalie 4 games in a row.

Hart is also the first goalie to allow 4 goals in the first 5 games of a cup finals.

Bussi changed this series. It was Skinner vs Skinner. Now it’s Skinner vs a good goalie.

Glad Vegas failed and Carter hart finally went cold

Happy for Taylor Hall. He’s been chasing this cup for some time and trying to add things to his game. Ends up scoring the Cup winning goal and was a grinder all playoffs like a poor man’s Sam Bennett. Deserved it.

Marner just went from Conn Smythe favorite to putting up 1 assist and -5 in 3 games.

Everything changed for him after we put Mike Babcock in the news. Sweet sweet revenge! icon_lol

We got 1 good trade out of Ken Holland in 5 years for 25M.

Here is what Carolina did in half a season

Out:
Necas (selling high on a career year)
Jack Drury
Scott Morrow

In:
Taylor Hall (part of 3 way trade involving Necas/Rantanen),
Stankoven (for Rantanen who was had for Necas)
K'Andre Miller (for a 1st round pick from Dallas acquired in the Rantanen trade)
1st round pick

Necas was a ghost in the playoffs. Hall, Stankoven and Miller were each 5x the contributors to Carolina than Necas was in both playoffs combined for Colorado. Just a MacKinnon merchant waiting for Nate to do stuff, and completely invisible when Nate got hurt.

That's some crazy good GMing by Carolina. Not to mention years of maintaining a super competative team that these moves finally put over the top, along with another analytics wonder boy Ehlers being added for a bit more than what a Frederic and Mangipane cost. Snagged their cup winning goalie off waivers this year too while we have zero damn clue at all how to scout a goalie still.

Scoring a Cup winning GWG is about as loserish a thing as a hockey player can do icon_eek
