.. Stauffer saying Oilers have decided to hire Babkcock..
Babcock hasn't coached for 6 years.. stupid. stupid.. light years beyond stupid..
F Bowman.. Fire the freaking clown.. he's made stupid decisions since the day he arrived.. zero savvy.. .. not worthy of a NHL (or AHL) GM job...
Stauffer mopping up the push back from this stupidity is freaking nauseating..
Forget the 2026/27 season boys and girls.. its over before it started.
Bowman and Jackson bent over pulled down their pants and let Vegas have their way with the franchise and our retaining McDavid

Stauffer such a propagandist..
At least he admits he's an employee.. but his arguments on this are so full of holes its embarrassing (to him and us) that he thinks he can spew them on the air.. I find it hard to think he actually believes what he saying..
He keeps saying"..the owner.. the management.. and the players are ALL in agreement.."
Lie.. no way the players were in on this decision.. they were asked after teh fact if they "shouldn't" sign Babcock.. being good character guys.. what are the players going to do.. say "NO"? .. first off since when does a management put the players in the position where they're responsible for hiring a specific coach.. ??
Never.
Its a weak assed management empty of rational conviction.. that will try to download the responsibility for a major management decison on to the players.. total BUSH league..
Then Stauffer keeps repeating the drivle that "we don't know what's in Cassidy's contract.." .. "..we don't know when, or if Cassidy will ever be allowed to sign with the Oilers.." .. ... empty arguments..
You don't know today.. so you wait for the end of the playoffs ( a few days from now) .. and FORCE both Vegas.. and the NHL.. to decide whether Cassidy is allowed to sign.. or not.. you stand firm .. wait.. and make the NHL and Vegas blink.. Bowman did exactly what the NHL and Vegas had hoped.. and what withholding Cassidy was intended to do.. force the Oilers to make (another) stupid decision.. and pick a second tier coach.. which the Oilers have happily done now.. congrats you morons.
If Vegas and the NHL keep Cassidy from working anywhere else then at least exposed their true intent.. you also force Vegas to pay 4.5M for nothing while they sit Cassidy..
They gave up on Cassidy who has extensive knowledge of CURRENT players.. and teams.. in the league.. and even more on the Vegas players and management.. the Oilers major division rival... so Oilers gave up on that advantage and picked a guy who has been out of the league for SIX years.. and doesn't know any current players or teams .. he's a year long (minimum) reclaim project as a coach.
On top of it.. before Babcock was canned in Columbus he hadn't done anything as a coach.. why take such a low probability chance on success? Its a huge risk. Based on the most trecent past experience and data, the probability is that Babcock will fail.. why make this decision?
I thoght we had an "analytics" department now.. that looks at probabilities and risks? Fail
Stupid managers = Stupid decisions .. simple math.. and Bowman/Jackson have been making them since they arrived.. time to cut the losses.. fire them both
.. maybe Katz should ask the players if they should replace Bowman and Jackson while they are at it

Trying not to picture the laughing coming out of the Vegas front office, but I think I can hear it from here.
Is this for real? We couldn’t wait even wait until the playoffs were over. There is no way Vegas was going to pay Cassidy 4.5M to sit.

They really don't want me to watch hockey next year do they.
I saw this rumor down here and had to come see what legs it had. Hopefully the Stauffer leak is one of those "trial balloons" to see how folks react.
The game passed him by at his prior stops, nevermind he hasn't actually coached in the league in years, and really wasn't that great in Detroit, given the talent he had at his disposal.
Time to find Mike Commodore online to see what he has to say.

Absolutely .. McCrimmon and McPhee must be laughing their butts off right now.. kinda like this..  
Vegas thought the trap might work.. but can't believe Oilers actually fell for it..
Collective Oiler management IQ has to be one of the lowest in the NHL.. in under two years Bowman and Jackson have turned themselves into the NHL's running joke.
St. Louis (offer sheet) .. Vegas (Cassidy, Lavoie).. Pittsburg (Jarry).. have all made Bowman look like a schmuck.

Stauffer made a fool of himself on his show today trying to spin this management debacle.. comical.. he isn't a good enough actor to pull it off..
Oilers could write a book (library) on how to ruin a franchise through picking the wrong management..
Only dream I have left is that babcock is hired.. Vegas releases Cassidy.. Oilers hire Cassidy as an assitant for a $1 .. vegas pays the difference.. then Cassidy takes over as HC next year.. that's what I'd do.
