Reilly's ankles have never recovered from the night McDavid sped past him. I'd suggest swapping him and Nurse would be a backwards step for us. Not sure who'd take such a bad contract, but if we are going to move him, it's time for Bowman to show us how good of a GM he is..

Unfortunately, I think Bowman still sucks and will keep sucking :)
1:1 trade I still think Rielly's contract is a better asset. Maybe he gets a little boost escaping the hockey hell hole as well. He can still move the puck, he just needs to be sheltered a bit and play with a solid defensive guy like Murphy. Maybe we can raise his stock a bit for a year and move him more easily than Nurse could be moved next summer.
Looking for silver linings in some of the deals we might have to settle for/cope with.

There are definitely pros & cons. Both deals are for another 4 years, and both have full NMC right now. Rielly's opens up in summer 2028, a year after Nurse's - which is a point against it. The actual dollar figure is lower for Rielly in those years which makes the owner a little happier at least.
It's a change of scenery, I guess - although I would want the Oilers to be pretty sure. Especially since they so often throw extras in these kind of deals - it would be awful to give up a prospect or a pick and then a year from now have Rielly making everyone wish for Nurse and have an extra no-move year to deal with.
