Saw claims that Vegas was appealing that penalty and would meet with the NHL. They might use allowing Cassidy to talk to other teams as some leverage to try to get the penalty reduced. Vegas putting the league in a weird spot trying to block their fired coach from exploring opportunities. Bad precedent to allow, letting teams trying to force their fired coaches to sit out, or excluding them looking for opportunities with certain teams.

NHL upheld the penalty and the fine to Torts, Cassidy was not part of the discussion
