Start to finish. Terrible season. Need some major changes starting with whatever the hell has been happening with our defensive play and pk. And we need a damn starting goalie still. Haven’t had one since Talbot.

You know who has a good starting goalie? Minnesota. No idea how someone gets a guy like that…luck I suppose.

I didn’t have a whole lot of hope at any point in the year. They actually started to look good towards the end of the season, but this series, they looked terrible. The inability to play a 60 minute game was glaringly bad.
Officiating was brutal. Only to be outdone by our PK. What were we at? 40% or something like that?
Nurse needs to go. Nuge is done. We need a goalie. Can’t believe we paid what we did for Jarry not to mention his $5.5m hit.
Whatever - even if we got past the Ducks I had zero faith in this teams ability to beat Minnesota or Colorado in a 7 game series.
Whatever - rest up, clean house and do it all again next year.

The last two years have been fun, long runs, lots of hope and souls destroyed. This, this the polar opposite, a team that looked beat in all but one of the six games, a team full of players who minds and heart are at full tilt, but bodies not.
As crap as it is, regroup take a long summer break and come back again and hope for once we get off to a good start and don't run into the play-off's with everyone carrying injuries
Take me home, country road
to the place where I belong
to Alberta, to see the Oilers
take me home, country road

Have to sit Connor and Leon the last 20 games so they’re healthy I guess.
They’re always beat to a pulp every playoffs.
Seriously needs to be addressed, they need someone to protect them.

Piss poor performance.
Last few seconds sums it up stand around doing nothing.
Unless there’s some changes I’m not wasting any money on games next season.
You got what you ****ing deserve Oilers!
Fire Stan Bowman before he messes up the offseason
Fire knob and get a real coach
Find an actual goalie
Don’t bring back Ingram, Henrique, Jones.
Move Nurse, Jarry, Bouchard, Frederic and every other floater.
Try and find more players like Podz.
Honestly for a goalie I’d try and get Silovs.
We should have been after him after 2024 when we could hardly beat him.
Congrats Anaheim you shown us what a hungry team looks like.
Best of luck in the next round.

Oilers GM and scouting have been horrible (yeah I know.. no kidding).. only call that Bowman made that was right so far is trading for Podz.. him and his scouts should all walk.. UFA Mangiapane, signing Frederic for 8 years c/w NMC !, Rosz..
I have few hopes that either of the wunder kids Hutson or Howard are going to make it.. they are both slower than Savoie and he looked invisible out there.. they'll get manhandled.
Bowman deciding to let Broberg and Holloway go .. and Jackson trading away Mcleod for Savoie aren't looking good.. all those guys are leading their respective teams in ice time... and they are all FAST and can carry the puck at speed.. they make plays
Oilers need more speed.. speed.. speed .. size .. strength.. not sure how they'll get it.. they shot most of their asset bullets..
I just hope Bowman and Jackson don't decide to "get a jump on next year" by signing Murphy, Dickenson, and Rosz to big long term, NMC contracts
The one guy that I'd probably sign is Kapanen.. but only shorter term and no NMC
I think Knob might lose his job but I don't think he was the primary problem.. other than McDavid, Leon and a couple other forwards the bulk of that roster was super weak .. that's on management .. Bowman, his scouting staff, and Jackson
Having said all that above.. the refs were a factor as always.. the OT goal.. and zero penalties drawn by the Oilers in this game.. total farce.

McDavid saying the team was average all year with big expectations that leaves you disappointed, absolutely makes me believe Knob is gone. Bowman should be too, I don’t trust him this offseason when we have money and need a goalie, top 6 winger and bottom 4 right shut down d man.

IMHO, I think we need two top 4 defencemen much more.. Nurse, Murphy, Walman are just not at that level.. none of em can carry the puck .. Walman and Murphy might good 3rd pair.. we need a complete 2nd pair.. or 1st pair and put Bouchard and Ekholm down to 2nd.
Then go get some better forwards ..

A strange series.
Secondary scoring was absolutely there. Hurt McDavid got outscored by Jeff Viel and was a -8 for the series. Special teams including PP was crap. Defense was not there. Goalies for both teams were not good. A crucial goal that in my opinion nobody had any actual evidence it was 100% in. Score first in 5 out of 6 and lose 4. It was sloppy everywhere from both teams, Oilers being the sloppiest. Series was winnable, but with early injuries there probably was no run to be had.
We are nearing the end of runway here I am afraid. The core, outside of Bouchard, is old. McDavid is 30 next year. Crosby won his last cup at age 30. Hyman, Draisaitl, Nuge, Nurse, Ekholm entering or well into their mid 30s. The team is what it is. Without some significant reconstruction around them or with them, we can’t expect much of a bump going forward. And we don’t have a lot of assets to get there.
Clean house or bust

Quenneville obviously figured some seriously wrong with how we play. Worked for his team the whole series. Being able to play 4th liners against our best player and it being successful for 5 games is so embarrassing. The Ducks still had leaky D and weak goaltending the whole series but it didn't matter. They could very comfortably expose us defensively all series, especially on our terrible passive PK, and easily neutralized our top line.
Coaching absolutely needs to change now. Knob may have had them playing well in past years, but they have completely tuned him out. Nothing worked all year outside of maybe 1-2 weeks.
