Honestly, Anaheim is so much better than the Oilers in this series. It's been close on the scoreboard in games, however the Ducks are crushing the special teams battle and have swung the 5v5 game in their favour as well now... and that's the deciding factor so far.

Too many players playing pretty blah for the good guys right now. I hope the Oilers are able to part ways with a lot of this team in the offseason.

And coaching? Do we even have a coach, or is it some dude that just stands on the bench with a blank face? You could put a cardboard cutout on the bench and it would have the same impact. Quenneville is animated and engaged with his players and the refs... and our guy just stands there and looks off into the distance. Knoblauch needs to be cut as well. Bring in Cassidy and see if that finally gets these guys to play some sort of effing system.

Agreed. But either of these teams will get rolled by Colorado, Dallas or Minnesota.

Might even not make it past Utah/Vegas

Hopes and prayers.

With how this team played all year, I have next to zero hopes of another long run, so maybe the best outcome for the long term is the org to be shocked with a 1st round failure.

Won't be mad of course if this team pulls it's collective head out of its rear and surprises us though.

If you could transplant Murphy's brain into Nurse you'd have a #1 D-man .. otherwise.. I think we're stuck with him until next year

Damn. Did that ankle twist rob us of McDavid getting this game back together in time for a comeback? He was just awful before that ankle thing, but he's no stranger to a slow start. Maybe this year the hockey gods are just not allowing him to get rolling.

McDavid with a bum ankle is still a force.. the hockey gods (refs) do impact the game.. he still gets mugged every shift and gets no calls.. they still have the infraction bar raised for him..

Probably no hard feelings.

I'll be watching tonight but this clearly isn't their year so a rest and reset is probably for the best. In the last 4 years they've played a full season(!!) worth of playoff games.

29/97 and 2 need a summer off. Ekholm and Nurse need a new address. Fire Lloyd Braun.

Honestly I'm thinking I'm a game time decision myself on this one. I'm getting over a chest infection and just gone back into work, I don't know if I can haul myself up for this one after the last few games.

I want to remain positive, but watching how they've been playing gives extra kudos to the Islanders and Oilers of the 80's who went to so many finals, as we just look shot. They are going to the well and it's just plain dry.

It's not helpful with McDavid's contract, but we've may find an early break and all our playerx get sick notes so no World Championship call ups, that next year we've got a full tank to make another big push.

Oh it's just an old TV character that looks exactly like Kris Knoblauch. And his famous line was "serenity now...insanity later" which I imagine fits pretty well.

The serenity thing is great to a point but there has to be a time when you stand up for your team and show some passion. Seeing his press conference after last game and watching their PK this series and the way he runs the lines I think its time to move on.
