Knob might want to waste one on the refs in his post game. Time to blow up. Its now or never and he's done if they lose this series anyway.

Completely corrupt officiating and no accountability.

This cards were in place to win it this year however,

We had a piss poor trade deadline.
(Yes, Dickinson is a hell of a pickup but we had to overpay to clean up a mess)

Florida doesn’t make it finally it was wide open.
Anaheim was 2-8 in their final 10 games and have out coached us.

Every year it seems like the secondary scoring isn’t there and now this year it’s there and McDavid and Leon are quiet especially McDavid.

Jarry despite the loss played solid and the defence left him to dry many times.
(Really should still have Kulak back there)
Stupid penalties costing us.

The good?
Kap and Dicky look great

Knob is gone, Bowman won’t be but should be.
Bring in Bruce Cassidy as our coach.

Emotions running high right now but this is extremely frustrating hockey.

That puck never crossed the line. Period

The league has finally gone full retard trying to fix games and series .. not even trying to pretend now.

This is the guy that called it a goal when he could never have seen it go in from where he was standing.. in fact he did not call a goal as he came to the net.. he didn't see it .. he could not physically have seen it at all.. impossible.. then after the fact he's allowed to later call it a goal on the ice .. its a made up call.. he never saw it. . so when the video review is unable to prove its a goal.. no clear evidence.. the made up on ice call .. becomes the call.

I think these guys huddled and decided to do this by design.. none of them saw it go in.. so if there wasn't any video evidence either way.. their call of a goal stands

As bad as I want to agree, to me it clearly was across but if the rule states you must fully see it without blockage than it shouldn’t have counted.

We've seen many goals that "might" be over the line that have never counted because the video isn't definitive.. the refs never call it a goal if they didn't actually see it go in.. never happens.. never mind game 4 OT goals in the NHL playoffs..

As well.. the camera angle makes a huge difference.. from the camera angle behind net the puck can look like it would be across but edge actually isn't .. there's about a 25 degree angle .. that's why they don't normally allow these types of goals unless you can actually see the ice side edge of the puck clearly over the red.. and showing white.

Oilers and our fans were robbed of a win and likely a series.

I believe the puck crossed the line. I mean screenshot it and pencil in the lines and I’m sure you’ll see that it’s over the line. But that’s not the point - absolutely zero chance he saw it in the next from where he was. Not to mention that at no point did he signal a goal. And the goal light didn’t go on. There is zero plausible explanation for calling it a goal on the ice.

As for this team - even if we do stage a comeback against these guys, no chance this team gets by the central division.

What a joke of a management team. Chatting with someone tonight and went to look at McDavid’s decade of playoff goalies…quite the list:

Talbot
Smith
Koskinen
Skinner
Pickard
Campbell
Ingram
Jarry

Pathetic.

Hats off to Anaheim. I knew this would be a tough series. I said at the beginning I think it will go to game six. They are just playing like a very young and energetic team. Oilers are playing like they are lazy and want to go home. We are scoring enough, but the careless mistakes and horrible defense. It’s pathetic to watch. Jarry had a great game, and we still couldn’t win.

You are giving the ducks way too much credit I think. I don't think they're lazy buy this version of the oilers isn't remotely comparable to last years. They are decimated by injuries and horrific management decisions. The ducks are going to get rolled in the next round.

Discipline means nothing. It only matters if the beer leaguers decide to give you a penalty. The panthers are the least "disciplined" team in the league. Tampa isn't disciplined. Vegas wasn't disciplined when they won. If you play undisciplined every shift you'll get the same number of penalties as if you played nice clean disciplined game. So there is no benefit to doing that.

Guessing we've seen the last of Lloyd Braun.

Oh I agree completely. I think ducks are a solid team, but they won’t beat Vegas or especially Colorado, Dallas , Minnesota. Zero chance. But they are sure making Edmonton look silly. Never did I think in a game where our goalie has 30 plus saves and plays great that we would still lose. That’s always been our kryptonite is goaltending. Jarry played amazing; an we still lose.

Also, Nurse needs to go. I just can’t stand him what so ever

Edit. I should throw Mammoth in there too. I forgot they are actually up in their series against Vegas.

Quite angry that on such an important goal, the refs have to have a conference to decide what the call on the ice is and call it a goal, despite not calling it that way when the 1 guy was looking at it behind the net. And despite what many have said, I’m not sure it did cross the line. The red paint is not a straight line, it fades into the white, and I don’t know what the rule is for exactly where the line is.

But the Oilers should not have let somebody else decide their fate. They have lost leads in every game, scored first in every game, and only come away with 1 win. Brutal defending.

Win the next one and task doesn’t look so big.

Came out and played an awesome first period, but this team just refuses to play a full 60 minutes. Scored two goals in the first 10 minutes. And then one goal in the last 50 minutes. It’s just typical oilers

Such a bummer season.

Still think 2023 was THE year. If Holland had the sack to LTIR Yams and Kane to add at the deadline, we could have taken in that season. Could have added a D and goalie.

And us winning with LTIR scamming in 2023 may have closed the loophole for 2024 and 2025 which would have crippled what Florida and Vegas were able to do, which could have gave us a great chance to win those seasons too.

Consequences of garbage lazy GMing. We've been experiencing it for multiple decades now.

Agreed. Just seems like the window is closing. McDavid I have a feeling will eventually leave and we will be garbage OR mediocre.
