Pronger put out a book where he touches on his joining and leaving Edmonton.

Basically he says he signed his 5 year deal with us while he was drunk without consulting with his family. His last convo with his wife was about a 1 year deal being the only option, but boozed up at 1am he ended up signing for 5.

Quote:

But at 1 a.m., my agent called back. 'They want to talk contract. They don’t want you playing on a one-year deal. They cannot afford a contract with $7 million in the number.'

I should’ve said no. Should’ve said I need to sleep on it. Should’ve said I need to talk to my wife. Instead, sitting in my home office, several more beers deep, we started negotiating.

By 2 a.m., I’d agreed to five years.

Claims by November he was done with Edmonton:

Quote:

I knew it wasn’t working by November. Not the team … the situation. The promise I’d failed to keep.

I told my agent: “I’m done after this year. Start figuring out how to make it happen.”

From November to June, I played every game knowing I was leaving.

Don't have the book, just scraping info and quotes from the internet. Another part someone posted:

Quote:

Edmonton? Nobody mentioned f—ing Edmonton.

On our way home, Lauren and I stopped at a bookstore. She asked the clerk, “Do you have any books about Edmonton?”

The woman looked at her like she’d asked for books about the North Pole. “Why would anyone want to go there?”

Welcome to our new life.

I think pronger is on a mission of cleaning up his image and is very actively looking for prominent head office roles on NHL teams, so probably need to take it all with a grain of salt. He's kinda blaming himself, but also blaming others for taking advantage of him while he was drunk. He's also trying to counter any stories that were told about his wife.

I read the entire excerpt. He very clearly does not blame anyone else and says several times it was his mistake, he owns it and "he effed up" (he uses more colorful language).

The president thinks he has the ideal male body.
It's hard to disagree that he has the ideal male body.
