Hmmm. I’ve watched that same game way too many times. Used to need Skinner or Campbell in net to make it happen, but Bowman managed to find a goalie that is both of those guys at their worst in 1 body.

Skinner was at least a homegrown player who was always cheap. He couldn't be trusted in the most important moments but one thing you could never say about him was that he was overpaid. With a competent organization he should have been an extremely easy player to move on from without tying another boat anchor to the team.
Campbell was a bad contract but at least he didn't cost the team any assets.
Jarry is by far the worst. They gave up a significant package to get him including pieces that could help them right now AND his salary has and will continue to prevent them from improving in other areas.
How they watched this guy play and decided he was someone they could trust in high pressure moments is mind boggling. Just an all time brutal move. GM/Pro Scouting department should be fired for that move alone.

Jarry's playoff history is a carbon copy of when Skinner competely falls apart and needs to be sat for weeks. Easy to find Jarry's playoff gaffs like this one:

He's the same frantic mess that we are seeing lately in our net when the chips have been down in his career.
What this org was thinking chasing and overpaying for another Dustin Schwartz lifetime student? We will never know.

That whole game was amateur hour. Jarry is garbage. Nurse is absolutely brutal still. Bouchard had a rough night, but I'll give him a pass. Ekholm too.
Thought the bottom 6 guys looked decent. That's encouraging at least. Whatever - assumoing the Ducks don't come back, we'll be at worst tied for 1st with Vegas with 4 games to go.

score 5 goals and lose.. pure Oiler
That defence other than Ekholm is a defensive tire fire.
Murphy is slow as crap but at least you can see he thinks the game properly
Walman .. slow, lazy, dopey liability.. no offence .. unless he is dealing with a major injury Oil need to find a way to unload that pending 7M boat anchor contract..
Nurse.. dopey liability.. no offence.. is what he is..
Bouchard .. dopey defensive liability (but he adds offence)
Did you see Ekholm track down and eliminate Cooley on that break away?
Holy crap..
Cooley is ranked at the same max skating speed as McDavid 39 kmph and Ekholm gained ground on him.. !!!!!
Wish we had 4 more Ekholms 😪
We need upgrades at defence.. some how.. some way
Problem is I don't even think Oilers think its an issue that needs to be fixed.. they think they have the guys.. 😓
Oilers need to wake up and address it this off season

Dach looking like he can take a job..
Kapanen is starting to look ineffective.. his contract year.. I used to think he was one of the Oilers better forwards.. he's devolved in the last couple months..
The kind of player you should be extremely cautious of at contract time.. or it'll bite you.

I fell asleep in the third period. I still think we win if Ingram is in net. It is what it is. It’s a point. Move on and get a win over the sharks

How we played reminds me of when the team is scared of their own goalie, and we just stop making any offensive push. But that leads to even more defensive zone time and panicking and makes everything worse.

Agree.. some other teams might be able to defend a lead like that but it doesn't appear to suit thee bulk of our roster.. we tend to get eaten alive in our own zone (with exception of some of our best players).. our guys can't beat the other guys to pucks to clear the zone.. not quick enough.. or hard enough on pucks.. weak sticks.. and on top of that there's the general habit of just losing position..
