Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman talked to Oilers GM Stan Bowman in Florida at the NHL meetings. Bowman says Leon Draisaitl will be back before the playoffs for the Oilers if everything goes as scheduled.
Still gonna be up to everyone else to solidify that playoff spot though.

If they get lucky and things fall into place this could be a huge blessing in disguise.
1. Make playoffs - ideally win division and play LA/Seattle/Utah
2. Get healthy - Can not afford injuries to 97 or 2.
3. Bottom of the roster players chip in, develop confidence and feel like a bigger part of the team going into the playoffs. Frederic becomes Connor Brown 2.0.
4. Playoff beast Draisaitl returns for game 1 fresh and ready to dominate.
5. Oilers win cup.
Simple!

One ace in the hole we have is that getting out of the Pacific will be a lot less of a beat down physically than what all the teams in the Central or Eastern Divisions will have to go through.. so we got that going for us.. 👍🏻

I thought Leon was going on LTIR.. which I just checked means he has to miss minimum 24 days and 10 games.. which is good news! .. but.. Oil only have 300K in space right now.. so doesn't look like there will be a call up..
