Blues traded their captain Schenn to the Isles. Love a good captain trade.

Vegas did nothing! Guess there is respect for the rules this year.

Probably playing the long game for next year. Stone being injured by that little push is proof that all his past Feb injuries were totally legit. And lobbying the NHL to show them the new rules ruined their competitiveness and for other teams too, to try to get the rules changed for Stone's Feb 2027 injury.

To Colorado:
Nazem Kadri
4th 2027

To Calgary:
Conditional 2028 first
Conditional 2027 second
Victor Olofsson
Max Curran
Retain 20 per cent of Kadri

Olofsson contract expiring, so he's just a throwaway to help fill the Lames tank roster.

So, basically Kadri at 80% cap (1.8M higher cap hit than Frederic) for a little more than what we gave up to lose Mangy and get Dickinson.

Avs didn't even need the Lames to retain to get Kadri, but got some retention anyway.

There are some benefits to your team being managed by ppl with fully functioning brains.

Both the mangi and fred signings were loser moves.. we could have had room to do a lot of smart moves.. but to do that you first need people that are smart running the show..

Remainder of our 2024 2nd round opponent, the 23/24 PDO kings. And Demko didn't actually play against us (barely plays against anyone these days)

Now do the Flames from the year before!!! I do love that we've not just beaten a couple of teams, but completely stolen their souls.

And made Los Angeles so broken that they turned to our crappy former GM as if he would be the saviour - only to end up sellers at the deadline.

A realist GM would be looking at Fred, Nurse and Walman and figuring out how to cut their losses for next year.. wishing for a 25% chance these players get better than what they are now is bad management.

How embarrassing it would be if the Ducks win our division. Traded away their #1 goalie, only a couple years removed from tanking. Didn’t need a #1 pick, absolutely nailed all their high picks though. Just calmly added pieces and hired a hell of a coach and already could win a division before us after a decade of McDrai.

Super fun game between Tampa and Buffalo tonight. 8-7 Sabres win puts them in top spot in the Atlantic. Imagine Anaheim AND Buffalo win a division before the mighty Oilers.

Nice of the Ducks to do the thing and have a complete no-show game as soon as they take the division lead. Hopefully they give us some time to try to catch up again.

Corey Perry with another goal for Tampa.. 2 in 2 games..

Oilers management and pro-scouts need to be jettisoned.. so many failures in talent identification..

draft, UFA's, trades, player retention, who gets long term contracts & NMC's.. consistently below league average.
