Samanski also had a nice assist on Leon's PP goal.. they played on different lines this game.. but Samanski is the net front on the DeuΜtschland PP.. on to play Slovaks.. they have a chance..
What will be funny is if Swedes beat USA.. Germany beats Slovaks and advances.. Leon will have a couple of chirps next time Oil see Florida.

Watching the damn Oilers again. Thought I could get a break. 2 forwards worth a damn, bunch of slow plug D that can't move pucks. Doughty can barely even play the puck under pressure. Shakey goaltending.
Team better wake the hell up quick.

Wilson looks like he thinks (I know that's hard to imagine) he can get away with anything, it's going to cost Canada.

I agree.. as soon as I saw the keystone cops line change + picked off cross seam pass I had flashbacks .. combined with Binnies Stu-like rebounds and movements in net
Now 87 is out.. now the holes in the roster are revealed.. Suzuki, Reinhart, Horvat, Jarvis, Hagel.. nothing

Finally tuning in.
What happened to Crosby?
And has Binnington been bad? Parayko I assume the usual suspect on giving up opportunities?

Gudas decided it was time to jump onto Crosby as he attempted a high hit in Crosby's face, and may have tweaked Crosby's knee as he collapsed on him. Or was another double team hit Crosby took after, but didn't seem to get his leg hit or pushed on it. Might be done unfortunately.
Binnington not horrible, he's made some saves to keep them in it. The 2 goals weren't that bad. Parayko slow to gget across to try to block on the 2nd one. The D overall struggled badly to move any pucks in the first. They seem to have woken up a bit in the 2nd.

Binnington giving up huge rebounds.. it was Stone at fault on the first goal.. fired a cross ice pass from the bench as everyone was changing .. checks came in and got a lucky bounce off a skate into the net.. 2nd gola was on a PP .. stupid call by Rooney .. called interference on #17 on an icing call into the CDN end.. it was simultaneous.. zero effect on the icing.. never ever seen something like that called.
Then Suzuki misses the W I D E open net for a 3-2.. he's done nothing all tourney.. not even a glimpse vs. the weak teams.. he didn't in 4 nations either.. I guess they had to pick at least one Hab.. he's our replacement for 87 between Stone and Hagel..
97 + 17 creating all the scoring chances..
Not enough speed at forward outside of the 97, 17, 29, 87 .. could've used Bennett.. hope he's out because he's hurt and not a healthy scratch or Cooper is looking not that bright.

At least Mcdavid is healthy. And it's probably better for him and Leon to have a week off then kill themselves playing deep into an exhibition tournament.

Suzuki has sucked, but that 3-3 goal was really good.. needs to bring more of it.
I haven't been impressed by Marner this tourney, but that was an elite GW OT goal.. back hand far side corner.. SUPER ππ»
Hope 87 is OK.. he was missed.

What a finish. Was wondering if Marner was gonnna show up. Boy did he. The leafs could use a player like that
Binnington shaky to start, but definitely saved butts by the end. Unbelievable allowing a breakaway with a couple minutes left in the third, thought it was all over, but Binnington saved them.
They have to play so much better than this to go all the way though. Hope some of the depth forwards got a little confidence off this one with those last 2 goals.

Just saw that the 3-2 Czech goal had 6 men on the ice all participating in the play leading up to the goal, and all 6 guys hugging to celebrate the go-ahead goal. They had 6 guys all playing like normal as far back as when they started breaking the puck out of their end. 2/6 of the guys after the breakout did a lazy change and they actually had 8 skaters on the ice when the puck went in, haha.
Lol, nice one refs. That would have been nightmare fuel if we didn't come back and win.

Crazy. I don't know how everyone misses that - not just refs, but Team Canada should have been screaming for the whole shift and even the Czechs should have been desperately trying to sneak someone off.
The defence usage is a little troubling. Seems like the coaching staff has even realized that they may have made some errors in how they built this back-end. Bouchard and Schaefer would have improved things considerably over Parayko and Sanheim.
