I’ve always felt and still strongly feel that a penalty shot should result in a 2 minute PP if they don’t score.
Just like I never understood why a penalty gets waved off if you score on a delayed penalty.

This is likely the rule I have argued should be changed the longest and most often. Especially with goalies getting so much better on breakaways.

I want a hatty for Ek. 20 years between the last two D hat tricks and then one game between the next two would be an all time statistical anomaly.

5 out of 27 penalty shots have gone for goals this season (not counting OT - according to the broadcast)

Yep, I caught that. So 18.5%. Oilers PP is currently at 31.8%. Only 9 teams in the NHL are below the 18.5% mark.

Umm, has the game come back on? ESPN+ took a commercial break after the 5-2 goal and hasn't come back to a broadcast.

Yeah, nearly 6-2 twice then the Ducks scored on another PP snipe by Granlund. 5-3

It’s dumb - it’s only the most egregious of penalties that yield penalty shots, yet it gives you one of the lowest chances of converting.
You get a free shot, you don’t score, then you are on the PP.
Ditto for the delayed penalty - not sure why you scoring absolves my infraction.

The site I'd posted in the OT should work for this game. I'm watching this one on Prime though

Missed most of this game, but I see Nurse and Stastney have been noticing everyone talking about them in social media lol.

Jeez come on guys. The way they're skating around us you'd think we were the ones playing our 3rd game in 4 nights. Need to start moving our feet!

Funny how they do look like a Quenneville coached team. Wild how quick things can turn around for some teams.
Of course they are still no match for our powerhouse offensive D group.

As soon as Nurse failed to clear the zone on that PK with all the time in the world I knew they were gonna score.
