Not sure how we lost that game. We absolutely dominated them.

Not meant to be I guess. Ingram played great. We hit posts with wide open nets and Sorkin stopped the rest.

Oilers played better defence (for them) .. but Ingram still had to make multiple 5 Alarm saves just to keep it close.. Not sure what Sorkin's snort'n but he was unbeatable tonight.. as soon as Leon took teh penalty with 8 minute sleft I knew Islanders would score and win..
Also.. Schaeffer is an unreal defenceman .. 18 years old and he has more poise and defensive awareness than any of the Oilers defencemen.. Shoud be on Team Canada.. with a guy like that playing D the puck will never make it back to your zone.. you'd have the other teams trying to survive 60 minutes of non-stop pressure.
Once Scaeffer turns 20 he'll likely be the best D-man in the league.
McDAVID! Oh YEAH Baby!! (Thank you Lord!)

Yet another >900 game for Ingram. I have to say that I was mocking the trade, having seen his numbers in the AHL, but I'll happily eat crow on that.
I remember seeing him in an interview where he explained that playing goal in the NHL was easier for him than in the lower leagues, because the things he expects to happen actually happen, rather than the more chaotic structure of lower leagues. I can't remember the last time an Oilers goalie has looked as composed in the crease as he does.
Agree with Skookum too - Schaeffer is a player. Can't believe he's only 18!

I too am chowing down on a succulent crow meal. Though I refuse to let management off the hook for what turned out to be an incredibly lucky month.
I have no idea how in a Connor McDavid "show me" year they managed to put themselves in a position where they had to play the goalie with the worst stats in the NHL and the goalie with the worst stats in the AHL in their lineup at the same time. Like that is "clean house" material level screw up right there.
But I also love a good underdog story. I hope they keep Ingram up and he continues to be the go-to after Jarry's eventual upcoming injuries.
