Knight and us being a bit anti-clutch kept it close all night. Needed Ingram to be good in this one, and he was. 6/7 starts for Ingram >0.900. 1 game vs Boston ruined his stats, but back above 0.900 overall again now.

Great game by Ingram.. the defense must be underpaid because it was looking like they all had second jobs working as Dominos delivery guys..
Oilers owe him a shutout.
Luckily the Hawks couldn't bury any of their many chances..
I don't see Rozlovic as a center.. we need a 3C.. get Roz back on the wing.. Kapanen looks good on LD's wing.. lots of speed..
McDAVID! Oh YEAH Baby!! (Thank you Lord!)

Good win. Sounds like Ingram played fantastic. I heard on the radio that Jarry is very close to being ready to go. What do we do with our goalie situation then?
Ingram has been far better than Pickard, but he can be sent down without having to clear waivers. I think I'd still take the risk and send Pickard down though. If he gets claimed then he gets claimed. I like a Jarry - Ingram goalie tandem.

I would much rather take my chances at losing Pickard vs sending Ingram down after being our best goalie all season. I get that you have to make good business decisions, but the best decision is to play your best players, otherwise I think it hurts the morale of the players (not that I think the management teams takes that much into account...).

Jason Gregor was talking about this too and trying to suggest that the team should demote Ingram just in case they lose Pickard. Pickard looks done though. His last two starts, he's allowed 3 first period goals. He's been terrible almost the entire season. Having a couple good games in December doesn't redeem him for me, and if we have two better options, then we should keep the better options up. If we lose him to waivers, that's probably a good thing as it means Connor Ungar still has a place to play in the AHL and bonus, the team saves a little money (sadly not cap space).
It should be interesting to see what they do, because it's an indication of how serious the Oilers are about being a winning team.

Ingram actually has NHL level talent when he is on. That would be pure comedy if after he put up 6/7 >0.900 games we demoted him for Pickard.

It doesn't exactly send the message that performance matters...

Ingram brings calmness to the game. He looks composed and is always facing the right direction in net. I am so used to Pickard and Skinner getting turned around or falling on their faces I am somewhat confused by Ingram's style.

I feel the same. I don't find Pickard nearly as floppy as Skinner was, but both Jarry and Ingram just seem more in control. More able to just be in the right spot. Not turning routine plays into 2 minute fire drills in our end.
