Wallstedt now 2nd in the NHL with a 1.94GAA, and 1st with .935 save %. He's 6-0-2 for the Wild this year. His counterpart Gustavsson is 6-7-2 with .902 and 2.79. So seems less like a system stat line and more of a stupid Oilers bad a dumb moving passing on this guy thing...
Other highly touted goalies who have changed hands recently who seem to be doing pretty well: Spencer Knight who the Hawks got in a trade, solidly in the top 10 in both categories. Yaro Askarov, who the Sharks got from the Preds, also in the top 10 in save %.
EDIT - and yes, I will complain about this for as long as Wallstedt is excelling in the NHL or until we get competent goaltending.

Don't forget Logan Thompson who the Capitals got for two third round picks and who's 8-6-1 on a team that's struggled to score goals. .910 even after a week where he had a tough few outings.
I've heard that you can't just expect your GM to go and get a goalie though. Being a GM is really tough. Us normies wouldn't understand how challenging a role that is.

Yeah, I think we achieved a peak example of difficulty getting a goalie when it was our turn to draft, and the top ranked goalie of the draft was there to be taken, and we traded away the pick to draft a bust a couple picks lower.
It doesn't get any harder than that.
It's remarkable how Wallstedt's development curve lined up exactly with McDrai's extensions.

Colorado was in the dumps with goaltending worse than current Skinner/Pickard just a year ago. Now 17-1-6 record with 0.928 and 0.920 goalies, and a 3rd stringer >0.900 as well for when Blackwood was hurt.
Annoying how some teams are able to act and address glaring weaknesses.

St. Louis just signed Dillon Dube to an AHL agreement.
I think a couple more signings likely in the next months.

Blues getting desperate. Not following up their last season well after the year of a perfect blend of underdog energy and ex-oiler spite motivation.

I love the additional language of "We will always hold our players to the highest of standards, consistent with the values of our organization..." That's an acknowledgement right there of how problematic the signings are to these teams. They want the player, but they also want to repudiate the past acts - and basically assure fans that they'll make sure the player isn't involved in any (alleged) gang rapes in future.
They're also really only dipping their toe in here. They aren't giving him a contract, rather a try-out with their AHL team. Super easy for them to back away from this if they feel there's too much heat.

Canucks send Quinn Hughes to Minny for Marco Rossi, Zeev Buium, Liam Ohgren, 2026 1st.
Canucks get some really good young players. Minny gets 1 more year of Hughes who may be determined to go UFA to play with his brothers. Super risky by Minny but at least Canucks get a big downgrade losing their franchise player.

Vancouver got way less than I expected they would for Q. Hughes.. maybe that's beacuse he likely won't be signing with Minni and going to NJ.

Absolutely, Quinn is a game breaker. Probably a top 3 D in the league. That's a massive loss. This is throwing the towel in by the Canuck for this season.
Zeev Buium is what Canucks fans are hyping themselves up about now. Solid rookie year, former 12th overall pick. Of course, you never really know what you get long term with young D. Tyler Myers on the Canucks roster right now is a prime example of a player that looked like a god early, and never managed to match his rookie year.

Also he's not quite living up to his pre-season hype. He's been decent as a rookie but not a world beater. Will get lots of opportunities in Vancouver.
Canucks probably significantly worse the rest of this year though which is good for us.
