The core of this team is the same that has made it to the SCFs two years in a row, and they don't seem to be interested in doing much of anything this season. It's starting to become pretty clear that these guys want a year off, and don't really care whether they make the playoffs or not.
As a season ticket holder, I have zero interest in paying the wages of a bunch of millionaires that are just mailing in a season. No interest at all. Have some goddamn pride.

Are they like us? Season is pointless without NHL goaltending, haha. I wonder how hard it would be to not think that after the last 3 playoffs.
McDrai, Ekholm, Hyman, Bouch and others ran themselves through the ground to get as far as they did the last couple years and had to watch goaltending straight up sabotaging them over and over the last 3 playoff years. Even got an almost unprecedented forward Conn Smythe for a losing team out of it all. How can doubt not creep in that Pickard can't save the day like he had to 3 times the last 2 years? Especially now watching Pickard turn into a pumpkin this season along with Skinner.
Where is the optimism supposed to come from with this group right now? Goaltending now has even been consistently worse than any of the last 3 years to add to it all. .878 and 0.847 is insane. And the only reports are that management is monitoring the situation.
55 of San Jose's games last year in a disastrous maximum tank year were played by goalies that put up >0.900 overall for them. Georgiev put up a 0.875 as their worst goalie dealing with all kinds of issues, and in the dumps after being discarded by Colorado, and his career is basically over at this point with SJ terminating his contract as he bails out to the KHL. And Skinner right now is only 0.003 better than he was behind a full on tanking SJ team.
lol, monitoring the situation. Friedman I think most recently said, "goaltending is in the spotlight!". Yes, there is so much more to learn about our goaltending situation from another tiny sample size of a few more weeks.

I get that the team in front of them is a big part of the problem. I get that Skinner has been to the Final 2x. But it feels like Pickard is actually more clutch than Skinner in big games. That's a problem. I do think this team is mentally burdened by this goalie tandem. One can't deny that .878 and 0.847 gives very little optimism.
This team is softer than a silk pillow. This time off will hopefully give them an opportunity to work on their stick checking.
