Man, oh man... has the interest in this team fallen off of a cliff. I remember, not that long ago, pages upon pages of thoughts and opinions on this site. Now, it's almost completely silent. That's a pretty telling sign of the times for these boys.
Need to get their game in order or fan frustration is going to boil over quickly.

Forget goals. No one needs goals. This is a team of plugs that can't stay out of the penalty box.
It's not like we have two of the top five offensive players in the game, and a Dman that can look all world in the playoffs. Nah, this is a team of plugs.
McDavid has the scoring touch of a fourth liner now. I stick with my estimate that he's on pace for a 20 - 25 goal season, and the only reason why he gets to that total is due to his TOI.
JFC... what the hell happened to Ekholm? Sherwood went by him like he was standing still for that third goal. This team looks so bad right now.

The thing is it was entirely predictable given his playoff performance and age. They easily could have avoided doing the typical Oiler thing of waiting for his value to crater before being forced to move on. They could have traded him this off season and probably got decent value but even if not there was zero rush to re-sign him. I don't expect their are going to be too many teams looking to give him 3 years after this season.

High skill plays still can make up for long periods of suck. Nice breakaway pass from Bouch to Drai. Roslovic snipe off a giveaway, and a quick McDrai PP goal and all the crap is erased.

Thought the same thing..
As it turns out.. he could have gotten possession of the puck in his own end.. and turned it up ice.. but.. instead he trips over his own feet and loses the puck.. cue GWG by Sherwood Featherlight.

I think a lot of people realise these games just don't matter that much. The bar has been raised pretty high to the point that everyone here know that the regular season to this team is basically what pre-season was for Oilers teams 5 or 6 years ago.
Makes you wonder if it's difficult for us to really care about these games how hard is it for the players who have just gone to (and lost) the cup finals two years in a row..
