We know he was fighting mental health last year around his mothers cancer and passing.
Years before though, he also had to go into the player assitance program because of OCD and anxiety.
Somehow we have a 3rd goalie in a few years with mental health issues. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm though :)

As someone who has had similar struggles, I think it's important to let Ingram write his own story. The mental side of the goalie position is hard enough for someone who doesn't have mental health challenges. For someone with severe anxiety it's even harder, and medication can only help so much. It's a chronic condition that requires a lot of management. The anxiety is at its worst when it results in cooccurring depression, which Ingram has been open about.
It's best to let him start slow and only progress when he feels ready for it. If either of Skinner or Pickard struggle early in the season, that doesn't mean Ingram should be called up right away. That might just set him back. It's best to think of it as a long term thing. Honestly I'm not sure Edmonton is the best team for him. I have some doubts that Oiler fans have the patience to help him along, though his being open about it might help.

Serious question - does goaltending have more appeal to someone with OCD? We've seen lots of goalies that have tics and quirks that would be consistent with OCD. It's a challenging position and one that really relies on consistent routines.
