This must be how they are making room for Jake Allen's offer.

Doubtful since Allen resigned in NJ.

Allen re-signed until he can draw out CPP. 5 years. Wow.
Looks like we run back with same tandem and wait for an in-season swap unless something materializes out of no where.

Ah, I missed that. Interesting contract and honestly will be a good one for both parties I am sure. At $1.8M Allen will be worth it for a while.

Nice to see them clearing space without adding assets.

Honestly if they don’t use the money they should have just kept him then. Contract year could have a bounce back season.

Respectfully disagree. I think Arvidsson is what he is at this point. Could he have a contract year bump? Sure, but this team will need space to make a move. If they have no space mid season, every team knows it and that is when a GM gets taken advantage of.
No one has left today that I will miss. It isn't players that I hate or anything, just that for the roster spot, cap space or deal they signed somewhere it is addition my subtraction.
Now, if they finish the season with good old "Cap Space" holding down a spot on the roster it will be a failure. If they use that to fill needs we will look back on today thanking the hockey gods that they didnt overspend on a JAG.

Agree about Arvi, he was what he was.. if you can unload him without retention that was a win in my books.. $4M is significant cap room.. if you want to start doing any dealing you need the flexibility to do it while you're dealing.. if not UFA then in a trade.. lots of time before regular season.. I suspect there will be some buyer's remorse generated for some teams after today's transactions.
