Geez.. another 0.53 and we could have had a legit 3C that scored over 30 goals last year.. and only for 4 years.. instead of the hope a magic bean will turn in to one.. although we do have 8 years to wait for the magic to happen.

Habs just picked up Dobson from the Isles and signed him to a 9.5 AAV deal. IN return the Isles get Emil Heineman and the Canadiens two 2025 first-round picks, 16th and 17th overall.

Bouchard is definitely getting more than 10M/season now.

Dobson got that coming off a bit of a down year and he does not have the second highest playoff PPG of all-time...so Oilers will be lucky if it's only $10MM...

That's a sweet deal for Dobson after a rough year.

Bouch just got a call from his agent to discuss:

Just saw that Shawn Horcoff's son William was drafted by the Penguins today, exactly 27 years after we drafted him. It doesn't seem like that long ago that we were all talking about Horcoff on here all the time.

Bad news. Hofer signed for 3.4M AAV. Just slightly less than the Oilers two goalies.

Vegas announces PeterAngelo will miss the 25/26 regular season “at least”

No use not going all in for the last year the LtIR scam can still work at max value.

Probably helps them get Marner now too

Yeah. Along with Marner and whoever else they get after Stone is taken out in Feb with a life threatening ingrown toenail.

Ekblad just signed in Florida.. 8x6.1M .. he left a lot on the table.. but Florida has no tax.. so its really almost like $7M most other places .. they have 4.9M to sign Marchand now.

Then we sign Bouchard for 10.5 x 8

He could have got more than 7M other places. Leafs are horribly desperate and probably would have gone to 9+.

Bennett easily 10M+ other places.

Kind of annoying seeing guys give huge discounts to stick with their friends. In contrast to some guys we have paid beyond max dollars/terms to hang with their bros.

You thinkin' Mr. 9.25? lol

Yeah Bennet + Ekblad easily could have used up another $4M elsewhere.. now they will likely have Marchand sign for low ball as well.

This new CBA should have really addressed the disparity in taxation between franchises as it effects effective cap.. it should be after tax cap hit

It is not up to a business to fix government policy. Don't like your team getting the short end of a 10% provincial tax? Take it up at the ballot box.

It’s been said in other threads, but at one end you have the Panthers getting guys to leave millions upon millions on the table allowing them to at least remain as competitive, if not better.

On the other end - here we are paying absolute max $ it seems on every single contract. Pretty frustrating.

Such a joke.. and first time the NHL ever decides to do an "investigation" regarding LTIR.. and it was the Oilers with Kane.. with two documented surgeries.. now Vegas pulls another one.. they've done this at least 4 times now.. major cap affect.. 9+ M each time..

Well at least PieterAngelo won't be going to the Olympics..
