Evander Kane@evanderkane
As my time with the @EdmontonOilers has now come to a close, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank the entire organization, my teammates, and the incredible community of Edmonton.
To the Oilers Ownership, front office, coaching staff, and trainers—thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a respected and passionate franchise. Your support meant everything, and I’ll always be grateful for the chance to compete in the blue and orange.
To my teammates—thank you for the battles, the friendships, and the memories. I’ll always remember the playoff runs, the highs and lows, and the pride of going to war with a special group of guys.
To the fans—thank you for embracing me and showing unwavering support throughout my time in Edmonton. Rogers Place was always electric, and I’m proud to have played in front of such a passionate hockey city. My family and I have built some incredible relationships that will last forever.
With that said, I’m incredibly excited for the next chapter of my career as I join the
@Canucks
. It’s an honor to become part of an organization and team I grew up watching as a kid. Vancouver is a city that lives and breathes hockey, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to play in front of my hometown as I did many years ago as a Vancouver Giant.
With appreciation,
Evander Kane

Stupid trade.
One of the toughest guys in the league who will play top 6 minutes and Bowman trades him to one of our top hated division rivals.. dumb.

Kane has a shelf life. I don’t hate this move at all. Kane can help a team win, but Kane has also shown he’s always going to put himself first before team.
No “I” in team, but definitely an “M” and an “E”.

The proposed Fredric contract is scary and stupid, compareable to some of the worse decisions this team has ever made.
However, his and Kane's performances in the play-off's shouldn't be used as evidence against either of them in some respect. Both had been out for quite some time, Fredric less so but after an initial burst after returning from such lengthy spells out you'll always see a dip in peformance levels as they struggle to get back into the groove.
Now if Kane has said something behind the doors of the room about being moved down the line up and his actions had an effect on the team then we've done the right thing to let him go. His age and now his injury record will probably see a decline in his effectivness. Though only a 4th rounder is pure Oilers masterclass in getting less than they could have.
Take me home, country road
to the place where I belong
to Alberta, to see the Oilers

Evander Kane was jumped in Vancouver last night & he needed medical attention.
He’s doing fine which is great to hear.
A video of the incident will be released to show that Kane did nothing wrong. His friends were being held back.
Kane was minding his own business & out of nowhere he was attacked.
Be better Vancouver. #Canucks
