Not sure how I feel about this...and the timing.

8 years for Frederic, $4 mil per? Whaaaa

Can't be real.. That's a freaking boat anchor!

I'd say he's worth 2.5 max on term.. probsbly less. after
whatI saw of him these playoffs..

No way 4 mil...

This is the problem with having a management team that constantly believes they're smarter than everyone else. If every fan out there can understand that that's a terrible decision, then you would think that the GM should be able to see it too.

For a long time I've thought the do nothing or fan vote method would have yielded better results for the team.

Right now we're playing the hand we're dealt though...and I'm preparing myself for the Carter Hart signing.

Just hart? If he is willing to give one guy a second chance why not 3 or 4 of them? lol. Each on a 1M redemption deal. Using the cap we save signing Frederic for 8 years at ONLY 3.5-4M. I assume if we signed Frederic for only 3-4 years he would have costed 6M+

Anyone else worried with McDavid’s tone and words in interviews the last couple of days?

It’s a VERY different feeling than last year.

Yes.

McDavid's next contract.... $18mil and a legit starting goaltender.

We all know how broken and fall short the Oilers organization has been for decades.

I'm already at the point where I feel more that this guy needs an opportunity with the proper support.

And maybe that's something Oilers ownership and management are incapable of.

We knew the team has specific failure points from last year's SCF, and this year they walked in with the same failure points. If not weaker overall.

... as Bowman is in negotiation with Frederic (a 20-30 point forward) for $4 million for 8 years. Holloway was $2.29 million for 2 years, and got 63 points with the Blues.

This is on ownership and management now. Love the logo, love the players, love the coaches, love the fans, love the city... but ownership and management.... no.

But yeah hopefully he re-signs. But I'm also hoping that he somehow forces ownership and management to actually address what our needs are for the next step.

Well if it was all of them, I mean at least that's a strategy.

Formeton, Hart, Dube, McLeod...We get younger, get under the cap and solve a lot of on ice problems.

We kind of sold our soul already...

If anything remains true, Bowman is ready to sink this team.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.

I don’t know what Frederic brings, but it’s definitely not worth locking him in for 8 years. A 20-30 point guy locked up until he’s 35???
