Tigers lost it early in the 2nd period.. went from 1-0 after the 1st to 3-0 early in the 2nd.. lost all momentum.. not a fan of the Memorial cup tournament format .. every team got there playing multiple best of 7 series.. then the final is decided by a single game. Good on the Tigers.. played London 2 times.. finished at a draw overall.

How else would you do it though? That's already a long season for a bunch of teenagers. If they had to do a couple more 7 game series, it would never end.
It'll be interesting to see what happens now with the CHL with the players suddenly having NCAA availability. Is someone like McKenna going to want to play in the middle of nowhere when he can go to a big US University? Suddenly these players have options and I have to think the really remote teams are going to suffer the most for this. Prince Albert, Prince George, Swift Current...I don't know how those places will compete when players aren't tethered to them. They'll need to invest in facilities at bare minimum.

Junior hockey needs to be reorganized in the country. The current system as designed for 1971 doesn't work anymore. Even before the NCAA changed their rules, the clubs were locked in a boom / bust cycle and kids were being drafted places they might not want to go. If it were up to me I'd tier junior hockey like British soccer with promotion and relegation at Christmas. National, regional, provincial, local. And run an FA Cup style single elimination tournament throughout.
It's going to be hard for the CHL, but they have to understand that the NCAA might be a better option for players than major junior and a league like the BCHL is probably a better option than junior A.
