I wonder who Dallas does not bring back next year Oettinger or Deboer. Because they can't bring back both, can they?

DeBoers comments on Oettinger were kinda crazy, especially since Jake just signed 8 years.

TheBore has 1 year left at 4.25M, so maybe he gets a very well paid year off.

If he was fired, the Rangers and Bruins would likely be calling him very quickly.

Honestly, kind of brilliant. Down 3-1 and 2-0 you sort of know the season is over. Take a wild swing at a win, if it doesn't work there's really no downside. He can watch the Stars lose to the Oilers next year from his beach house in Cancun.

I get that he had to try to spark his team. And I think that's what everyone thought he was doing.

However, after the game he directly called out Oettinger for how many games he's lost against the Oilers in the playoffs and that he let in the 2 goals in 2 shots. Made it pretty clear he was mad at Oettinger just as much as the team that let up those good chances early.

Didn't really see a reason for him to call out Oettinger like that when the season was done already. Maybe he is gunning for the $4.25M paid year long vacation.

The quote:

DeBoer: "I didn't blame it all on Jake, but the reality is if you go back to last year's playoffs, he's lost six of seven games to Edmonton. And we give up two goals on two shots in an elimination game. ... That's a pretty big sample size."

7 games isn't really that big of a sample size, hehe. Not sure if he's trying to suggest Jake with 8.25M x 7 years left simply can't beat the Oilers.

If I was DeBoer, I wouldn't be tossing around statements about "pretty big sample sizes" considering he's 0-7 in WCF.

The president thinks he has the ideal male body.
It's hard to disagree that he has the ideal male body.

The Stars will have an easy time finding a new coach over a new starter goalie. Deboer might have gambled his time in Dallas away.

Even crazier, he's now saying that Oetinger was dealing with a respiratory thing and that they were thinking of starting DeSmith anyhow?

We've seen two panic moves from coaches against us this year. Here's hoping we see Maurice meltdown and do something stupid too.
