Let's finish the job off tonight, get ourselves a near full week off to rest and get as many healthy as possible.
We've been clamouring for Ekholm's return for a while, as much as he'd help improve the defence, it's not excatly hindered us to date. If we have to go 12/6 tonight, I don't think we'd be to bothered would we?? Another week worth of work would make his return a mere certainty.
I know we've lost Hyman and Brown to this lot in the last 2 games and it wouldn't shock me to see them go after someone else tonight, but we are best letting the refs attempt to do the jobs they are paid for, rather than giving them a reason to put our guys in the box.

I read somewhere this morning that the Finals will start either June 4 or 7th. Both of those dates sound like a long way off. Even if the Oilers win tonight, that would be a minimum six days off for both teams. If the Oilers-Stars series goes the distance (Game 7 would be Monday) I assume they'd wait until the 7th. That would still give the western winner five days off and Florida would end up sitting for 10 days between games! That seems nuts.

They did the same last year if you remember, we finished on the 2nd June and finals began on the 8th. I'm guessing they'll also throw in the 3 day intervals again for travel.

I'm nervous about tonight's game. The 4th is always the toughest to win, and Dallas will be throwing everything at us. Win or lose I'm just hoping for no more injuries.
Call me cautiously optimistic I guess

I would like to see Frederic crosscheck Marchment right in the mouth just to hear the DoPes explanation on why he needs a 95 game suspension.
But yeah - please no more injuries, and WIN!

Per Rishaug: "Excellent change Ekholm plays tonight." That'd be a welcome addition. Assuming of course he is healthy. Last thing we need is for him to get broken again.
So...11-7?

Best revenge now is putting Marchment on summer vacation.
Was a total fluke play. No one goes for a hit in open ice expecting to break a players wrist.

According to TSN, Jeff Skinner is drawing in up front. Based on the lines posted, I would also expect to see Ekholm back in. He was paired up with Bouch at practice this morning, Nurse going back with Kulak and Walman & Klingberg remaining as a pair.

So many of our players have proven ppl wrong these playoffs. Only fair that Jeff Skinner gets his turn.
Excited that Ekholm might finally be back.
Win this one for Hyman!

The Winds of Must are blowing steady as the Mustometer maintains a Cat 4 level. The last one is always the hardest.

One advantage to being an East Coaster; my kid's stuff is done before game time. Usually. When it's not, the PVR is your friend. That and turning off any notifications on your phone. Skipping commercials and intermissions, you can usually be live by the end of the game if you only miss one period.

Wow, Ekholm all in with the 12-6. Hope this is an ideal result of keeping him out when he was already good to go for a week+.
Let's get one of those patented Oilers elite defense close out games.

Just for some pre-complaining.
Chris Rooney and McCauley reffing tonight. Dallas's record with both guys combined is 20-1-3 in the last 3 years.

Amazing how Dallas got only high stick penalties, while they call the more questionable stuff on us.
Also, Dallas did 3 high sticks in the first period, and they purposely ignored one because it was too soon after the last.
Have noticed in these playoffs that almost all refs have been pretty quiet late in elimination games. They really want to be hands off. Which I guess is good, unless one team is going way overboard defending leads with hooks and tackles that get ignored, which Florida is very comfortable doing.

I'm good with the 12/6. I think giving Ek a chance to come back before the Finals is a good thing, and hopefully J Skinner has a bit of a jump!
