Oops. Shoupda kept Stecher not Kulak lol

Wake up call. Lots of game to play.

I'm putting a lot of blame on Nurse on that one.. he's on the opposite side taking off up ice on a break leaving Kulak last guy back..

Checks out

https://x.com/bcurlock/status/1928258724436594705

sheesh lol. A forward is coming hard down on Kulak, and while that is happening Nurse has his back to Kulak with zero regard to anything that's happening. By the time he realizes Kulak had pressure he's probably skated all the way to the boards on the far end of the ice and is only just starting to turn to look at what's been happening.

Classic Nurse defending. Oh well! still won :)

Never have I felt it so vital to get out of a period winning 3-1 than that one. Need to calm down now, play as they were and start to quiet the crowd and the Stars again.

Keep it clean though, as the way these fans, and Da Boor, and the refs are, you just know they'll be looking for any excuse to put us on the PK.

Don’t want to come down on him too hard because he has been pretty solid all playoffs long, but he’s struggling tonight. Lots of unforced errors.

He's playing the wrong side to accommodate Ekholm.

Changing a winning line up when you don't have to could come back and bite you. Stetcher was playing great.

Ekholm way better than either guy so it’s a tough call

At the moment, knob probably wishing he had Stecher in instead of kulak.

Assuming they get through this game it will definitely be preferable to starting him in his first game in 2 months in the scf.

One wonders how much of that is having to babysit Nurse.
IIRC in their limited time together they've been awful

Hmm, perhaps sit Nurse and play a pairing of Kulak-Stecher?

Seems to be a dice roll. Knob discovering Nurse-Kulak last playoffs saved our series against Dallas last year. They had good moments in these playoffs too when Knob was trying everything, and the only really bad pair was Bouch-Nurse.

It seems that Nurse-Kulak is THE target of TheBore tonight, and they are definitely struggling in their end.

Yet, somehow Kulak on the ice for 3 GF and 1 GA 5v5 :)

The Oilers need to stay out of the damn box. This is where making the Stecher for Ekholm change straight up wasn't a good call. No harm in going 11 & 7 to slowly allow Ek to get back up to speed. He's looking rusty in this one, pretty badly so.
