Leafs full meltdown to start their game 5 at home. Do the opposite of those guys Oilers.

Ouff - suicide watch for a bunch of my friends in these parts.

I'm a little embarrassed that the possibility of the Oilers and Leafs in the finals crossed my mind. Leafs looked good until they choked game 3, then suddenly they turned back into the team we all know so very well.

Quite a contrast to how the Oilers handled that brutal fail with 0.4 seconds to go in game 3 vs Vegas. They only played better after that.

It looks as if we're very likely headed for four upsets in round 2, with the top 4 regular season teams and 4 division winners all being eliminated in a matter of a few days. The final four would be overall teams 5 (Dallas), 9 (Edmonton), 10 (Carolina), and 11 (Florida).

Quite turnaround from the first round when the home teams seemed to win every game.

I guess I should wait and see if any of Toronto, Washington, or Winnipeg still have a comeback in them.... (I doubt it).

I mean, it's a really long road back for Winnipeg and Washington, but Toronto still has a decent enough chance. They win the next game and all of a sudden it's a single winner take all affair.

I, for one, wouldn't hate seeing Florida fail. I hate those guys a lot.

I don't mind seeing Florida fall either, but game 5 was a home game for the Leafs, and arguably the most important for the franchise in the last 30 years--and they completely no-showed. Seems difficult to come back from that, but we'll see.

Matthews HAS to get a goal in a 2nd round at some point, no?

2 assists in 5 games vs Florida 2 years ago
3 assists in 5 games vs Florida this year.

Leafs fans all max coping saying he is playing good defense while complaining about Marner like Marner is the root of all evil on the team.

I get Zach Hyman vibes with Marner. In the right situation, he could flourish, however seeing that turnover last night....woof.... Leafs fans might be right about his lack of compete

I see Marner as a player that tries to do too much when hope is being lost. He's always relied on a lot by his team and coach. He's on the #1 PK, on the #1 PP, has to do all the puck carrying for breakouts and transition play. Matthews used to always get the PK off and rest while Marner was out busting his butt.

I see Matthews as much more of a wilting floater when the times get tough. Marner is always fully involved but with his team crumbling around him, being the guy stuck with the puck brings a lot of focus his way when things go bad, like an offensive Dman in Edmonton. On that giveaway (which really was a pass that went all the way to the offensive blue line, which really should not be the end fo the world), why is Marner basically alone in his zone, and 3 guys out in the neutral zone are just coasting. Matthews actually misses that pass, that could be just Marner thinking his "elite" teammate of almost a decade can pick up his pass, and just keeps on skating towards the florida zone like he didn't have a care in the world.

Dallas and Jets look like they want to kill eachother.

Keep up the violence in game 6 boys! And game 7 too hopefully.

Helle joins the Skinner club with his 2nd shutout in the 2nd round.
