Apparently Ekholm is taking light skates with the team again. Knob hopeful that he may be able to play in the next series. That'd be a nice injection.
Just need to knock off Vegas. Hopefully the Jets can win another one or two to drag out that series, giving Ek more time to recover.

Sounds like we're going with the same line-up as game 3. Not really a surprise. Hopefully we can get that Drai line matched up with Eichel's again. Absolutely smothered them last game.

Anyway, I'm fully expecting a victory tonight. In the McDavid era, the Oilers have never allowed a team to prolong a series where they had a chance to knock them out. When the Oilers get win 3, win 4 seems to inevitably follow right behind (the exceptions of course being the game 7 losses against Anaheim (2017) and Florida (2024)). The old cliche that the fourth win is the hardest has never seemed to apply to Edmonton.
For the record the last time the Oilers lost a non-game 7 when they had a chance to eliminate the opponent was against Anaheim way back in 2006. There they took a 3-0 lead and allowed Anaheim to win game 4 before taking the series in 5. I believe that's the only time in Oiler history where they failed to sweep an opponent when given the opportunity.

Reports that Mark Stone will miss tonight’s game due to injury. I’ll believe it when h see it.
Getting pretty antsy here - hope the boys come out banging everything in sight as they did in game 4. And hopefully more of the same from Skinner. Calm, controlled play. I don’t expect shutouts every game, but get square to the shooter, don’t start flopping, and he should be good.

Yeah, hoping for that Stu heater he gets on, but also concerned with a possible extended break if they wrap it up tonight and the Jets extend things.

I’m nervous about tonight, but I’m not nervous about the series yet. They have won in their barn 2x already and have lit up Hill. I think deep down the Knights feel a small bit of doubt. They can’t see it. They can’t feel it. But it’s there. It’s going to be tough for the Oilers tonight. But I think it’s going to be tough for Vegas to beat the Oilers 3 games in a row.
Conversely I’m nervous tonight because I think deep down the Oilers may be a bit overconfident. They can’t see it or feel it either. But it’s there. Tonight is SO critical because we need guys like Leon to mend and not worsen with a game 6 and 7 still to play. Also, not to take away from game 4, but less Skinner games is better. Pickard is the guy.
