Do the same thing as you did in game 1....

OK it isn't as easy as that, they'll come out flying to try and put up a bigger lead, and we need to not allow a lead. However a similar result would be a bit of a knife in the heart to them.

Keep it tight, keep it clean and just go to work when you can.

Just. Must. Win.

A rare game 1 dub for the boys, can’t let the foot off the pedal. Must bring it tonight.

Was thinking about our Game 1's these last 2 years with the Knob.

2024:
Kings - Win game 1 7-4

Game not really in doubt, lead the whole way through

Canucks - we go up 2-0 and end up losing 4-5

Some toilet defending and goaltending sink us. We probably could have finished the Canucks in 4 or 5 if played like we can, and without garbage goaltending. Giving the Canucks and their no-name goalie confidence in game 1 lead to a 7 game series of a big D group taking endless runs at our top guys. That arguably was a big reason that cost us the cup with the lingering injuries resulting.

Dallas - Win game 1 3-2 in OT

Tough fought game, solid win. We slowly figured out Dallas through the series and surprised. Knob discovers a great pair in Nurse-Kulak but decides it's no longer cool for the Finals for reasons never to be understood.

Florida - Lose 3-0.

Instantly on our heels in that game after Nurse/Ceci (Knob!! WHY?!) both go chasing puck carriers that easily pass through them, and turn a 3 on 2 into a guy wide open right in front of our net. Sad start to game 1, sad 3 games to start the series.

2025:
Kings - Lose 6-5

Brought in almost a whole season of underachieving to start this game, come back from 0-4 to tie the game 5-5 and decide to play guys that just played 6/9 minutes for another shift and sad things happen to end it.

Vegas - Win 4-2

Slow start, dominating last 2 periods and a well deserved win.

So 3-3 with the Knob, which is not that bad, especially considering we shot ourselves in the foot in 2 of the losses.

This is interesting! Thanks for the legwork, kr. Especially with the rhetoric of the last while being “Oilers suck in Game 1s”

Would be wonderful if we could keep playing like we did in the last 2 periods in game 1! Vegas will probably have their own adjustments and come out very hard tonight. Keeping faith in the power of the Knob to react.

Hopefully refs are not a story.
