After watching the Leafs vs Panthers game last night, I feel like we will be in the same series. Physical and cheap shots being handed out like baby oil at a P Diddy party.
Let see how the officials handle this series. Vegas with the advantage in net and on the blue line, but as long as the league is unbiased then it should be a long, close series.
Also no Dorofeyev. Out for at least game 1, and possibly the series. That is a lethal component of their PP. 13 goals on the man advantage this year will be missed.

Would be wonderful to get the split in Vegas. May as well get our 1 game tonight!
Trying to block out of my mind the rumors of Skinner starting game 1.

It's gotta be the organization playing a lazy pre-series mind game, right? They wouldn't ditch Pickard while he's on a 4 game heater with 4 rest days... right?

I don't know - do you believe that Pickard can lead a team to the Stanley Cup? Or that he's a back-up goalie who made enough saves to get us past an inferior opponent?
If you believe the latter, at some point you will need to roll the dice on Skinner returning to form (although 'returning to form' is maybe a questionable way to put it when he's as often hot and cold as he is).

Would bet Skinner comes back in eventually, but this would seem like some crazy disrespect of Pickard. Especially after a pretty bad entire season from Skinner. Skinner's chance at redemption should come if Pickard falters IMO, not just gifted back to him. Horrible look if Pickard is kicked aside already and Skinner still plays bad.

1) Putting Skinner in tonight would be lunacy. Pickard gets at the very least the first 2 games.
2) I believe Skinner's ceiling MIGHT be a bit higher than Pickard's, but I know Skinner's floor is WAY lower than Pickard's. I believe if Pickard plays like he did against LA, it's good enough to win a Cup with McDrai.
I believe

No, I don't believe Pickard is a Stanley Cup winning tender, but I also would have bet on Adin Hill or Braden Holtby or Corey Crawford. I think it's pretty likely the Oilers lose sometime over the next 12 games and at that point the question can and should be asked (I give Pickard two losses before I switch back). Until then? Ride the guy who made just enough saves to beat an inferior opponent for the 4th consecutive year.

Not saying you're wrong (although my level of tolerance might only be a single loss), but I think there's a logic the team could use to going back to Skinner too.
Personally, I'd rather keep him out until Picard loses, because if you put him back in and he stinks out Game 1, then he's shot to use the rest of the way.

And recognizing not also losses are the same. If they Oilers lose 2-1 or 3-2 and Pickard is solid, then he also keeps the net.
I believe Skinner will find his way back in to the playoffs, but it should not be gifted to him.

I really hope so. I have great fear that our org and media all have moustache envy and just worship Skinner and have a desperate need for him to be the guy.
