Walman has been a nice addition for the Oil, however every other player added this offseason has been a total downgrade.

This team is cooked.

We are cooked.

Knobs is done after this series wraps.

Skinner likely done here as well. He’s not as good as we are bad, he isn’t the guy to cover up our frequent mistakes.

The Bouchard experiment is also done here. Dude has probably cut his next contract in half this season unless there’s another GM that really wants to roll those dice.

Constant sense of confusion and lack of awareness unless he's on the PP.. even then he often coughs up a break away..

If he played on any team other than the Oilers he'd be lucky to get $5M.

Why are we playing Bouch and Nurse together? That is too much defensive cluelessness for one pair against good players. That second goal was as bad as it gets. nurse chases up the boards and just stands there and lets the puck and his man just skate off away from him. Bouch plays it like a 2 on 1 and backs off way too much but how do you allow a 2 on 1 to be created off a scrum in your own zone?

In spite of the mistakes those two can make they are our best D-men right now with Ekholm out.
Walman does some good things but he gets beat one on one more than any other Oiler. I would guess his zone entry prevention numbers are awful.
Klingberg is fine but I still have concerns on his skating and ability to play more than low 2nd pair minutes.
If either of Kulak and Emberson had to take on heavy minutes and top matchups they would be exposed in a hurry. I like them both as 3rd pairing guys. I trust Kulak to play a few more minutes as needed but he isnt capable of being a heavy minute shut down guy.

Bouchard and Nurse are kind of there by default, hoping that the puck moving/offensive contributions outweigh defensive issues and Skinner.

It's a good thing they had all that flexibility at the deadline though. If only they could have acquired someone like a Phillip Broberg type who was signed for multiple years. That would have been a shrewd move but those players just don't become available very often.

I’m wondering if there is a point where you start to pay for having a defensive coach that teaches “just have fun and don’t be afraid to make plays like I did back in the day”.

Feel like we are taking being inept in our own zone to a new level.

Yep one bright side is Kane looks like Kane again.

If they come back and win great.

If they lose then have to assume Pickard starts game 3 and a healthy forward group at home. I like their chances.

Whilst blowing on Nurse for the second goal, Drai's attempt at getting in the faces of the Kings didn't help Nurse what so ever in that moment and cost Nurse the second or two to be in position. Drai may have scored, but he doesn't look any where near being with it. His passing has been woeful and sluggish, I know he's coming back from injury or more than likely playing through injury again but he doesn't look right.

This team looks a little disjointed and also like a team that's been nearly 2 weeks on the road. A few nights at home may do them some good.

Yeah 29 is injured. No doubt. He hasn't looked close to the dominant version of himself that he is when healthy. Hopefully it's something that can heal on the fly.

Yeah he looks brutal.

Better to have Skinner in especially with Kane back and looking good.

At least Boston retained salary!

I should clarify - Jeff Skinner

This team is a tire fire.

That's preseason hockey, not playoff-calibre. This team is so prone to making catastrophic mistakes.

You need to be infinitely better than that, Arvidsson.

I really wonder about this. Are the Oilers trying to shoehorn in a bunch of walking wounded who are barely able to play? And if so, are we sitting healthy scratches who would be much better contributors because of that?

Oilers decision making around injuries REALLY has to be seriously questioned in the off-season.

lol. No team is giving gifts like we are. Just terrible hockey. Just a bunch of guys waiting for McDrai to do 95% of everything.

Yep. Trash support for the stars on this team.

Last year with our developing youth was a great run; Jackson was a brutal fill-in GM and Bowman decided not to keep one of the two guys that would have absolutely helped this team.

Like, this series isn't even close. The Kings are so much better organized than the Oilers.

Shut it down. This Oilers team is beyond cooked.

5 powerplay goals in two games for the Kings. Trash coaching.
